The Star Cruise company earlier operated the 'SuperStar Libra' Mumbai to Goa cruise ships. They had started operations in the year 2005, but soon they winded up operations.

It was reported in Nov-2010, that the 'Blue Ocean Cruises', a European cruise company, had started its operations in India with its vessel (ship) the MV OceanLife, and that this ship would be available for a Mumbai to Goa cruise. The reports also said that this cruise ship will make two trips every week, and later on would increase the frequency of trips.

This Blue Ocean Cruise - Mumbai to Goa ship had 231 cabins including 35 suites, and several ultra-modern amenities such as Gaming Zone, Kids Zone, Casino, Spa and Wellness centre, Shopping Arena, Pool Bar, Lounge, and Chill Out Zone. The Cruise Liner Ship also had a meeting room facility that could accomodate 200 people.

The report further stated that the fare/cost of this Luxury Cruise from Mumbai to Goa by Ship would be around 3000 to 9900 per person per night.

The demand for cruise tourism in India is steadily on the rise, and with more and more people now wanting to take the experience of travelling from Mumbai to Goa by Ship, this cruise has the potential to become one of the biggest attractions for both Mumbai and Goa.

On its first voyage, the MV Oceanlife however developed cracks in its hull, after which the passengers and crew were guided back safely to the Mormugao port, and the ship went for repairs.

There are no reports thereafter of the cruise services being started again.
So currently Mumbai-Goa cruises are not available.
